Corruption of VEVRAA, Cliches, and Linsleyisms

Discrimination Against Veterans, Rights and Wrongs

Many veterans have come to the conclusion that the U.S. Congress, the U.S. Legal System and Americans (non-veterans) in general are against hiring them and are discriminating against veterans in the workplace.  The Veterans Rights Advocates in this section of the website are exploring what has happened to corrupt the laws of VEVRAA.

Our objectives are to provide the U.S. Congress with the ammunition to encourage  the OFCCP to support veterans through affirmative action and for Congress to provide legal assistance for all veterans in the workplace whose affirmative action rights have been violated.  Federal Contractors and the OFCCP have taken the stance that they have not discriminated against veterans with slurs, spitting, and derogatory statements with corrupted hiring practices.

However, the greatest discrimination by the OFCCP and Federal Contractors is the lack of affirmative action mandated by VEVRAA for veterans in the workplace.  Visit the News section to read a few pieces of what is  happening to veterans in today's hostile workplace environment.  Read on to discover the corruption of the U.S. Congress, the U.S. Legal System, and Americans (non-veterans) in general.

Most Americans are taught not to use cliches or trite sayings when writing term papers in high school and any thesis in all American  universities.  However, a school teacher of 25 years said there is a place for such writings.  So, S.J. Linsley invented his first cliche which was a paraphrase of the ones he knew best.  "A stitch in time is worth 2 in the bush and gathers no moss."  1956 Linsley  S.J. was also fascinated by "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Lord Acton (1834-1902).

In a letter to the California State Bar in 2003, S.J. constructed a legal quotation that best describes the current state of affrairs on veterans discrimination in the workplace.

Some attorneys and government agencies have built piles of convoluted hornswoggle whose only purpose is to bamboozle veterans, other lawyers, clients, and government agencies.

As an example of an attempt to counter a damaging action by an individual in the MIS department at the Los Angeles Times, the following is offered to grab your attention as to what might by done to mitigate a situation outside an individual's sphere of control.

Re: Requiescat for The Body-Matrix

Digger O'Dell,

================================================
-
It was a hot sweaty day in the murky dungeon. Digger sadly prepared the mortal remains of The Body-Matrix (BM). He hoped it was the last of the COMM (Casualty Of Matrix Management) victims. Digger prayed that the sacrifice hadn't been in vain.
-
The stench of the BM was almost more than Digger could stomach. However, the seasoned Digger continued the preparation of the corpse for its Ultimate Resting Place (URP).
-
As Digger worked, he reflected over BM's short career. BM was first commissioned into the Inter-Space Department (ISD) as a scapegoat (sg). Eventually, (it had to happen) BM was promoted to sacrificial goat (SG). The promotion was the transmortification that caused BM's very early demise.
-
Digger knew that the BM's end was near when he got wind of the following memo. It had been issued with a dose of EM (EMotional-nitroglycerin) to every Third sg. None of the SMs (Senior Managers) had communicated to the sgs and SGs that the EM doses were coming. Of course, you can already imagine the high number of COMMs that resulted!
-
INTER OFFICE MEMORANDUM DATE: June 11, 1985
INTER SPACE DEPARTMENT FROM: Body-Matrix
SUBJ: CMS LOGON IDs
TO: Every Third sg
-
New procedures are soon to be implemented that will require the suspension of your CMS LOGONs.
-
Arrangements have been made to give you a new CMS LOGON ID this Friday, June 14th, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. After calling the BM on X-0000 for a specific time, take your old ID and password with you to obtain your new ID and password.
-
END OF MEMO
-
Upon issuance of the memo and doses of EM, Pandemonium reigned supreme. The SMs heard EMs exploding in all four corners of the ISD kingdom. The recipient third sgs were milling around in confusion. The non-recipient sgs and SGs soon joined the confused recipients. The non-recipients demanded to know why they had not received a memo and their dose of EM too.
-
The SMs were soon inundated by their sgs and SGs requests to defuse the EMs. The SMs were slow to respond (as usual). Fortunately, the sgs and SGs natural defenses proceeded to defuse the EMs quickly. How? SGs and sgs ignore most directives and orders not coming from their immediate ruling SM. Moreover, SMs also ignore most directives, orders, and requests not coming from their immediate ruling SM. However, sgs and SGs will tend to assimilate information from other sgs and SGs if that information has been previously sanctioned by their immediate SM.
-
Eventually, the SMs communicated with each other and issued sanctioning memos to defuse the sgs and SGs and EMs. But Digger predicted that a sacrifice had to be made. BM's end was foreordained. No one, not even the great Pooh-Bah could save BM (not without some rubbing off).
-
And now, BM was in Digger's hands. Digger had the answer that could have saved BM. If the SMs would only listen, there would be no more COMMs. And Digger would have less work which would make Digger happy. What was the answer?
-
The SMs must communicate with each other regarding directives, orders, and requests that would involve sgs and SGs reporting to other ruling SMs. SMs must be made to realize that they can not abdicate their communication responsibilities to one of their sgs or SGs. Further, an sg or SG can not abrogate that responsibility even if ordered by an SM to do their communication for them.
-
Digger felt (rightly so) that he would begin to see some SMs under his mortician's scalpel instead of just sgs and SGs if the SMs would listen to him. However, Digger know that no SM would be willing to risk his scalpel. The SMs would not be willing to admit that they did not know what their sgs and SGs were doing. Nor would they further admit that they were trying to abdicate their communications responsibilities to the sgs and SGs.
-
So, Digger put the finishing cosmetic touches on the BM for burial. But he knew that if he didn't DIG-DEEP, the smell would be noticeable.

I can only say your "Digger O'Dell memo" is priceless.

The points, as presented, are on the mark . . .

Let's hope everyone takes it to heart . . .

Other than the above response, none of the immediate management responsible had the courage to respond. Eventually, a 20 year Los Angeles Times pipsqueak was put in charge of security and gave orders to some employees never to write another memo.  Of course, he was eventually fired for further indiscretions and went to stir his pot elsewhere.

It is time for Linsley to take his writing abilities to this website and expose the damage caused by the corruption of VEVRAA.  Two great men, one fictional creation and one real are the beacons that light the way for all veterans,

Raphael Sabatini (1875-1950) published Scaramouche in 1921 with a hero that fought corruption with a pen and a sword.

Voltaire (1694 - 1778) was one of the greatest satirical writers of all time who burned the fallacies of his own French class and was put in prision several times for exposing them.

Linsley will be satisfied if one convoluted pile of hornswoggle is toppled by VRA writing so that one bamboozle is clearly eliminated (e.g. The VEVRAA corruption that allows discrimination against veterans in the workplace.).
